Ok - this one is a little longer than yesterdays. About 15 minutes. But Diane shows up finally!!!! Way to go Di! It looks like her third birthday is at the end. 1968 - I wonder what happened after that time. Did Dad take any additional movies? Mom, do you have any other reels?
Part of this one looks out of order - you'll see towards the end when Mom and Dad are taking a trip to Arizona (was that a premonition?). They look young enough that it may be from a trip before I was born. When I originally had these put on a VHS tape, I tried to order the boxes as best as I could. This may have been out of order, or the guy that did the original conversion messed up.
The reels that were transcribed are just under two hours in length. I now have them on DVD and will burn Jaren, Diane and Mom copies (and any of the grandkids that might want one). When you see the extended version - there are a lot of people that I don't recognize, particularly from Dad's National Guard days. If I can figure out how to burn dvd's with a voice over, I'll have mom do a voice over description while she's here at Christmas - then we'll at least know who people are in future years. For example; Bob is the first baby born - and Dad has a fair amount of video of Bert/Marilyn adn Bob. At first my kids that were watching on a smaller screen thought the little baby was me - I don't show up for several years....
Anyway - this has been fun, but a lot of work (mostly learning). I'd really like to figure out how to make a real "video" tribute of some sort - but for now, just piecing clips together has been fun. I'll try to get back to working on my family camcorder tapes - but since it is a fair amount of work, I need a little bit of encouragement to pull "cousin" footage - otherwise, I'll just focus on my own kids....hint hint. Is this interesting for anyone?
Love you all! For the cousins - enjoy seeing your dad/dad/mom and grandparents 40+ years ago!!!

some more video from 1990
Here's some more video from Grandpa's (dad's) birthday in 1990 - family pictures at the cottonwood club. There's a somewhat long segment (about 4 minutes) that I kept the whole segment because it's got Grandma Davis (Great Grandma) in it.
I've got some more footage (though short) of Dad's birthday in 1995 from our trip to Newport - Daren, Ashlyn and Jerry show up in that one. I'll try to get that one posted in a few days.

Some video for you to watch!
Hey cousins...(nieces and nephews!)
not sure where else to put this so that your mom's and dad's can also see it...I've been putting some video tapes onto DVD's and found that pulling some clips out can be really entertaining!
Here are some clips from late summer in 1990 - Hugh and Diane's first house, Diane's tomatoes, and some Jake and Katie video - along with a little bit of Cassi, Kie and Brie.
Ash and Daren are also on the video - though still looking an awful lot like their mother's tummies!! Brie and Jake sure seem to get along. "Cutest" moment of the video has to go to Jaren rolling down the hill at Grandpa Jones' place!
I have some more - it just takes a long time to extract the video and then download it - I'll post some more in a few days - I've only put up until Ashlyn (and Daren) are about five onto DVD so far, but I'll get a few more clips up here in the next couple weeks so check back.
Connor/Libby/Sallie/Lindie & Jerry - will probably be a while before I get to footage with you included. But, I'll get there someday.
Jaren/Diane and Mom - I also will try to get that old movie footage from when mom and dad were first married onto DVD soon and get you copies. There is also footage on there of when Jaren and I were babies - so our kids will be able to see that when I get to it.
Love you all!

How should we do this?
Hey guys!
So... I know we haven't been too successful in getting very many of the cousins here... yet! :) But I figured I should ask the question... how should we do this? Do we want to have assigned days that everyone is supposed to post or do we just want to post randomly? It seems people are busy in school and... life, so maybe it would help if we had assigned days so that there was a day that people check the blog every week. Otherwise we might forget about it. Anyway... what do you guys think? How often would you want to post something up here?
If we can get this going it will be a fun way to keep in touch. But we don't want it to be an inconvenience either!

Playlist
Yeah! Thanks for the cute picture Kie!! This blog will be fun! I feel like I missed out the last 4 years since we moved from UT!
Anyway we thought it would be fun to put together a music playlist for the blog so leave a comment (by clicking on "comments" at the end of this post) and let us know what your favorite songs are and we'll make one and put it on!
And I just added a bunch of pics from the reunion to my blog (click here) if anyone wants to see them, a couple of you are in some of them! If you have trouble logging in I might need to send you an invite since it's a private blog and I can't remember who I've already invited. :)
